Heritage Open Days
Every year on four days in September Heritage Open Days celebrates
England's fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access

International Institute for
Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (IIC)
The IIC promotes the knowledge, methods and working standards needed to
protect and preserve historic and artistic works throughout the world.
It runs a biannual congress and publishes Studies in Conservation
and Reviews in Conservation.

The Institute of Historic Building Conservation is the professional
institute which represents conservation professionals in the public and
private sectors in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The Landmark Trust
The Landmark Trust is a building preservation charity that rescues
historic buildings at risk and gives them a new life as places to stay
in and experience.
Maintain Our Heritage
Maintain our Heritage was formed in 1999 to promote a new, long-term,
sustainable strategy for the care of historic buildings with a
pre-eminence given to maintenance rather than sporadic major repair.
National Association
of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS)
NADFAS is an arts-based charity, with over 340 local
Decorative and Fine Art Societies in the UK and Mainland

association in Australia (AADFAS). All NADFAS Societies
subscribe to the advancement of arts education, and
appreciation and the preservation of our artistic heritage.
The National Trust for Scotland
The National Trust for Scotland is the independent conservation
charity that protects and promotes Scotland's natural and cultural
heritage.
SAVE Britain's Heritage
Save was formed in 1975 by a group of journalists, historians,
architects, and planners to campaign publicly for endangered
historic buildings.
Scottish Lime
Centre
The Scottish
Lime Centre Trust is a charity in Scotland whose
aims and objectives are to: promote the appropriate repair
of Scotland's traditional and historic buildings; provide
advice, training and practical experience in the use of lime
for the repair and conservation of such buildings; and
promote and further the preservation and development of
Scottish building traditional, crafts and skills.
The Twentieth Century Society
The Twentieth Century Society was founded as the Thirties Society in 1979. The
need for a specialised conservation society covering the period after 1914 was
increasingly appreciated in the 1970s as understanding and awareness of
twentieth century design was developing.
The Vivat Trust
As a UK building preservation trust, Vivat has
rescued neglected historic buildings facing dereliction in some of
the most beautiful parts of England and Scotland, providing them
with a new use as holiday accommodation.
